Description
In the 1970s whens he was with the Oakland A's, Joe Rudi ordered a few of these monsters to use in batting practice when he was working on something with his swing. The bat is a true warclub weighing 48 oz and 35" in length. There is some writing on the side that might have been the specifications of the bat because there is a "35" and a "53." The bat, though heavy, is not that weighty. It is not broken, but has some wear on the backside of the barrel, mostly discoloration for whatever reason. The grain is still good and it still has the "rubber" know that Joe used to shorten the bat so he could handle it. The stampings are deep, but the color of the bat...deep brown...obscures them a bit in the pictures. It could be used today if you had enough strength to swing it. Doubt if you can find even one of the early 20th century bats that is this heavy. The legal limit is 42 oz. This is a special bat from one of the A's star players during their World Series championships run in 72, 73, 74. PayPal or Ebay payment please. Shipping will be .00.
